At Bacloud, we continuously review our payment infrastructure to ensure reliability, transparency, and full regulatory compliance for our customers across Europe and globally. As part of this process, we have decided to discontinue using the Cryptomus payment gateway and transition to NOWPayments as a cryptocurrency payment provider. Bacloud continues offer Coingate as a payment method too.
Why Cryptomus Is No Longer Available
There are two key reasons behind this decision.
1. Recurring USD settlement discrepancies
We experienced ongoing issues related to USD payment coverage. In many cases, when invoices were issued in USD and clients paid in crypto via EUR-based conversion mechanisms, exchange rate fluctuations led to small but frequent underpayments. These discrepancies in EUR-to-USD conversions created operational challenges, additional reconciliation work, and occasional billing misunderstandings for customers.
2. EU regulatory compliance (MiCA & DAC8)
Due to the latest EU regulatory framework — including the Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation (MiCA) and DAC8 tax transparency requirements — which take effect in 2026, we have suspended support for the Cryptomus gateway to ensure 100% compliance with European law.
As a European infrastructure provider, regulatory clarity and compliance are non-negotiable priorities. We proactively adapt to upcoming legal standards rather than waiting for enforcement deadlines.
What is NOWPayments
